Scared and alone, Amy heads to the family planning clinic, having decided to skip school for the day. Once there, she explains that she’s pregnant and wants an abortion pill. She doesn’t receive the answer she wants when the nurse wants to talk to an adult rst, and she leaves upset.
Nervous, she asks Liz to meet up with her in the urban garden. Amy tells Liz everything, and there’s another shock in store when Amy asks Liz to accompany her to have an abortion. Liz persuades Amy to speak to her parents, but Steve doesn’t take the news well and demands to know who the father is.
Tracy tries a calmer approach, and Amy reveals that the baby was conceived just before Christmas. When Amy has a scan, the nurse informs them that Amy is 10 weeks pregnant. Tracy is furious, and when Steve nds a suspicious text from Simon, they’re both keen to point the nger. Audrey receives some comparatively milder news when she is told that the dry rot in her house means she will have to move out. Gail insists that she come stay at hers, much to David and Sarah’s annoyance. Audrey doesn’t plan on being too much of a burden and tells Gary that she will hire him to fix the damage, if he offers a low enough price. Gary’s thrilled, but Sarah isn’t when he sees how much money he’s spending. He reassures her that he has some lucrative work lined up, but things soon fall through when Audrey finds a cheaper quote elsewhere.
