Gluten-free restaurant week

Although it’s never been easier to find glutenfree options on restaurant menus, people avoiding gluten can sometimes still feel limited. Peroni Gluten Free beer has teamed up with some leading restaurant­s for the second instalment of Peroni Gluten Free Restaurant Week, taking place from Monday, February

4 to Sunday, February 10. Each participat­ing restaurant will serve a compliment­ary bottle of Peroni Gluten Free with each order of a specially created gluten-free dish during the Week. In Dublin, the restaurant­s taking part include Charlotte Quay, The Exchequer and Coppinger Row, while in Cork, visit Palmento, and in Belfast pop along to Howard Street. The gluten-free dishes include ethically sourced Irish rose veal tartare served with artichoke puree and crisps created by chef Killian Durkin in Charlotte Quay, while in The Exchequer, chef Martin Montgomery is serving up a Kassler cherry smoked bacon chop with fondant potato, parsnip puree, cabbage and baby carrots. On the menu at Palmento in Cork is a two-course gluten-free menu of arancini with Toonsbridg­e mozzarella and sundried tomatoes and a gorgonzola dip, and a gluten-free pizza with a red pesto base, topped with roasted peppers, mushrooms, caramelise­d red onion, mascarpone and Toonsbridg­e mozzarella. Other restaurant­s taking part include Café en Seine, Rustic Stone, Fade Street Social, Brasserie Sixty6, House Leeson Street, all in Dublin, Neill’s Hill Belfast, Acton’s Belfast, Soho Bar Cork and Brick Lane Cork.
