Wellness Coach, Patricia Maher tells us how proud she is of her success stars and why she feels like she has the best job in the world…

“I’ve been working as a WW Coach for 25 years now, and although things have changed and evolved throughout that time, the one thing that always stays the same is the group support and lasting friendships that are formed in WW studios all over the country. Audrey, Sarah and Tara, and also their friend Emma Lyons, are the perfect example of this. They all started at different times for different reasons, but they have become the best of friends. The changes I have seen them go through together are just astounding, and it’s the support that they all gave each other that got then to goal. The lovely thing is that they are now giving this support back to the other members in the class, sharing tips and recipes and even putting videos up on our private Facebook page.

It has been lovely to be part of their journey, and that’s what’s kept me in this job for so long. It’s never a case that someone comes in and just stands on the scales and that’s it; it’s about being a part of everyone’s personal story. There is no other job that exists that could give me the same joy, satisfaction and humility. As soon as I learn what someone’s ‘Why’ is, I become involved straight away and I’m with them from then on. The ‘why’ is very important, because that’s what will keep you motivated, and everyone’s is different.

It is an enormous privilege to be such a close part of people’s lives. I never ever have that sense of dread going into work. I love connecting with people and helping them with something that’s so important to them. I’m as passionate about it now as I was when I rst started. Even after all these years, I still feel like I have a lot to give, so I’ll keep going as long as I can!
