Das Boot ( Weds, Sky Atlantic & NOW TV)

Beautifully shot, superbly acted and menacingly claustrophobic, this WWII submarine yarn is getting more intriguing by the week.

Binge-worthy stream:

Blackadder (Netflix)

Seasons one and two of the classic comedy will be available to stream from February 15. Season one (set in the Middle Ages) is a tad iffy, though it does feature Peter Cook. Season two (set in Elizabethan times), is a gem, with Miranda Richardson as Queenie, Stephen Fry as Lord Melchett and Rick Mayall as Lord Flashheart (woof!).

Top Podcast:

Table Manners Musician Jessie Ware hosts this podcast from her own dinner table with a little help from her chef mum, Lennie. They make a meal for a different guest each week, including the likes of Ed Sheeran, Cheryl, Nigella Lawson and London mayor, Sadiq Khan.

Radio waves:

The Frank Skinner Show (Saturday, Absolute Radio)

The legendary comic is joined every Saturday morning by Emily Dean and Alun Cochrane to play music (nothing from the charts) and basically chat about whatever takes their fancy. It’s a simple formula but one perfectly suited to Frank’s skills as an off-the-cuff cultural commentator.
