Purple reign

-

While perusing Instagram, I noticed that Girls star, Allison Williams, posted a picture of herself with new blonde highlights and the caption: “I swore I wouldn’t do this to my hair again...but new movie, new hair. Back to blonde and back to work.” I can understand why Allison, usually a dark brunette, is lamenting her blonde hair – it can be so hard to keep the colour looking fresh. Recently, I’ve been using L’Oréal Elvive’s new Colour Protect

Purple Shampoo and Conditioner (both €8.95) and it’s been brilliant for keeping the natural warm tones in my hair from turning brassy. Purple is the exact opposite to yellow on the colour wheel so the formula works as a colour corrector that neutralises yellow and orange tones, and keeps blonde hair cool and bright. This duo can be used on brunette hair in between colouring sessions, all the way to silver grey hair.
