Best not to trust anyone
Jean has a lot on her mind following her trip to the doctor, and goes to Sonia to ask how her mum coped with her cancer diagnosis. Sonia gives Jean some words of advice, but it only scares her more. She chucks out all the unhealthy food in the house, and Stacey grows concerned. Stacey talks to her mum and tries to get her to go to the doctor again. She books an appointment, but Jean worries that Stacey will discover her condition and panics. She absconds from the clinic before the doctor can talk to her, and a furious Stacey confronts her mum, demanding to know what’s going on.
Jean comes up with a cover story just as Kat arrives. Stacey lays into Kat, telling her that she isn’t doing enough for Cherry and it’s causing Jean too much stress. Later, Kat goes to nd something of Cherry’s in Jean’s room and comes across an appointment letter. Kat goes to Jean and tries to comfort her, but Jean insists that Kat keep the truth from Stacey.
Kat does the exact opposite and goes straight to Stacey to reveal everything. Stacey, upset that her mother would keep her condition from her, runs to e Vic to see her. Once there, Stacey causes a scene and Shirley overhears everything. Stacey demands that her mother book another appointment right away.
Shirley is also annoyed that she wasn’t told, but when she goes to talk to Jean, she is met with a cold reception. Jean hears Kat and Stacey talking about her, and it all becomes too much for her to bear. She packs her bags and heads to the station in secret, leaving her worried family and friends searching for her.
Elsewhere, Ruby prepares for the event she is managing for Walford East. However, things don’t go too smoothly, and Jay tells Stacey that the police are looking for Ruby. e event ends in disaster. Jay grows worried about Ruby, but she’s in no mood for him and slams the door in his face. Later, their relationship may be on the rocks when he accidentally upsets her when trying to get her to open up about why the police wanted to speak to her.
Plus, Stuart panics when he comes clean to Rainie about his past. Worried that she will tell Dot and Halfway, he keeps a close eye on her. However, a er an argument with Halfway, Stuart has had enough and decides to leave
