Anto and Lee bury their heads in the sand over their lack of cash and Anto comes up with a hairbraine­d scam to pay his part of the deposit. However, his plan to sell his family’s clothing is thwarted when Daragh o ers to bring them to Helping Hand. At his wit’s end, Anto admits to his family that he is skint and nds a more legitimate way of coming up with the funds he requires. However, he is dealt another blow later in the week when he nds out his St Patrick’s Day ags are a scam.

Bob and Renee are uneasy about leaving Ellie with Hughie, who persuades Jackie to watch over her. However, Jackie loses her temper when she catches Ellie with her antidepres­sants a er going through her bag. e pair hide their argument from Renee, who later accuses Jackie of being unstable. Hughie steps in to try and help the women nd common ground but Renee accuses Jackie of lying about Ellie going through her bag to detract attention from her losing her rag. Jackie is hurt when Hughie doesn’t stand up for her and things deteriorat­e when Hughie drags up the past. Doug is concerned for Jackie when she appears downcast and Hughie is frustrated when she knocks him back. Doug has a go at Hughie when he sees him enjoying himself with Ellie and Pete encourages Jackie to patch things over with Hughie. Will she listen?

Mondo is irritated when Melanie puts working for Paul before Comet and he starts to question Paul’s motives. However, he is buoyed when he gets the gig for the Market Place but Melanie still refuses to let Paul down. Melanie gets annoyed with Mondo’s interferen­ce in her life but Mondo is convinced that Paul is exploiting her. Melanie rebukes this idea when she reveals that Paul is paying her more than he ever did. Paul suggests that Mondo is in love with her. Later in the week, Paul is thrown when Melanie agrees to get back together with Mondo. However, she is shocked when Paul tells her that Alex wants to drop out of school. Realising she needs to focus her energy on Alex, she breaks Mondo’s heart.

Dolores tries to make it up to Pete but he isn’t swayed by her good will. She worries about her relationsh­ip as family issues continue to be a stumbling block.
