The Bay (Weds, UTV)

Fans of Broadchurc­h still pining for a smart procedural crime drama set in a coastal town, can fill their boots with this one. Morvern Christie ( Grantchest­er) takes the lead as DS Lisa Armstrong, a woman who is assigned the role of Family Liaison Officer when teenage twins go missing in Morecambe in Lancashire. The plot thickens when it becomes clear that the detective has a personal connection to the case.

Binge-worthy stream: The Trip (Netflix)

If you’re enjoying the return of Alan Partridge to mainstream TV in This Time.., check out Michael Winterbott­om’s hilarious series in which buddies Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon play heightened versions of themselves. The premise sees Coogan commission­ed to write a series of travel and foodie articles in the north of England (series one), Italy (series two) and Spain (series three), while verbally jousting and comparing impersonat­ions with his travelling companion, Brydon.
