The Bay (Weds, UTV)

Fans of Broadchurch still pining for a smart procedural crime drama set in a coastal town, can fill their boots with this one. Morvern Christie ( Grantchester) takes the lead as DS Lisa Armstrong, a woman who is assigned the role of Family Liaison Officer when teenage twins go missing in Morecambe in Lancashire. The plot thickens when it becomes clear that the detective has a personal connection to the case.

Binge-worthy stream: The Trip (Netflix)

If you’re enjoying the return of Alan Partridge to mainstream TV in This Time.., check out Michael Winterbottom’s hilarious series in which buddies Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon play heightened versions of themselves. The premise sees Coogan commissioned to write a series of travel and foodie articles in the north of England (series one), Italy (series two) and Spain (series three), while verbally jousting and comparing impersonations with his travelling companion, Brydon.
