Heather continues to be a thorn in Hughie’s side as her feelings for him intensify, but she is devastated when she sees him and Jackie sharing an embrace. Renee realises that the situation isn’t working out, but Heather grows suspicious when she spots Renee lling out a referral form, and is furious when she realises what it is. As tensions mount, Heather warns Jackie that she’ll never get to marry Hughie.
As Hughie laments that he’ll never be rid of Heather, he lies to her to get her to see the psychiatric nurse, but he is stunned when she kisses him. When Renee nds out, she tries to set Heather straight, but it clearly doesn’t work as she announces her feelings for Hughie in a busy Phelan’s. As Hughie runs to a shocked Jackie, Heather is left alone and distressed.
Elsewhere, Eoghan is taking on more work, but is forced to rely on Leo when a sick patient throws up in his cab. When Carol realises that Leo has been covering for Eoghan, she gives him an ultimatum. Wayne and Leo try to get Carol to go easy on Eoghan, and she eventually relents. However, when her bonus leaves Eoghan disappointed, he takes a run meant for Leo, while Leo watches on.
Hayley is annoyed when Charlotte steals one of her clients, but Decco plays peacemaker and the two come to a compromise. The truce doesn’t last long as the pair clash while brainstorming ideas. As tempers are, a confrontation leads to Charlotte quitting her job.
