Beauty Bronzed and beautiful

-

YSLBeauty Director Tom Pecheux shares the chicest way to wear summer bronzer using the Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones (€49.50), and explains why it’s the perfect look to show off the new YSL summer look as modelled by actress Zoë Kravitz and inspired by a tropical jungle paradise with pops of tangerine orange, lush green and burgundy shades on nails, lips and eyes.

“I live for bronzing! It’s the answer for a sad day, for a sad mood, for a sad face! And the beauty of this particular bronzer is that it’s so sheer. It suits all skin tones from very pale to very dark. Everyone can benefit from having a little bronzer, especially if they haven’t been exposed to the sun for a while. For Zoë, the bronze tone adds a transparent warmth.”

“If you’re applying it to the whole face, take a pretty large brush, not quite as big as a powder brush. Dust it with powder and start your application over the cheeks, sweeping across the nose, and still without adding any extra powder, continue with the leftovers of the powder by brushing it on your forehead, then your chin, then your neck – just to balance it out.”

“If you only apply bronzer on your cheeks, it will look fake. The idea is not to use it as a blush, but to accentuate cheeks, forehead, chin, nose and neck.”

Another great tip from Tom: “If you apply too much, the best way to take it off is to make sure the palms of your hands are dry and just pass your hand all over your face. Somehow it works because it takes off any excess but leaves enough on your face. But it only works if your hands are very dry; if not, you will be left with patches. If you’ve applied too much and the hand-trick doesn’t work, add a very thin layer of foundation on top of your powder and it will even out your complexion.”

When using the Couture Palette Collector

(€ 58): “I like to vary the shades – black is great when worn on the top eyelid, and juxtaposed with the green or burgundy under the eyelids.”
