A serpent in the house

-

As the net closes in on Gary, he tries to wriggle free. He enters Rick’s house and smears paint on Rick’s clothes, but Sharon catches him. As the police arrive to arrest him, Toyah and Imran apologise and make up with Nick and Leanne.

Meanwhile, a radio journalist interviews Gemma and Chesney about their quadruplets. They’re both touched when listeners make donations toward the babies’ futures. Spurred on by the support, Chesney admits that he never stopped loving Gemma, but they’re interrupted by Gemma’s soonto-be-homeless mum Bernie. Gemma o ers the donations to her, leaving Chesney appalled.

Chesney o ers an olive branch to Bernie and lets her stay, o ering the sofa to sleep on. Things get a little too raunchy when Chesney nds Bernie naked in the kitchen and she suggests they spend the day in bed together.

Poor Chesney swiftly leaves and tells Paul, who tells Bernie to keep away from him. Sneaky Bernie implies to Gemma that Chesney is the one being inappropriate, leaving him furious.

Elsewhere, Evelyn starts a smear campaign against Larry the electrician. The angry tradesman assumes Roy is behind it and lunges at him in the café. Later, Roy and Evelyn start to bicker, but Tyrone thinks that there may be underlying romantic feelings between them.

Plus, Sophie’s girlfriend Paula stays the night after she is burgled, much to Kevin’s horror. Later, Kevin has to leave Jack alone and someone breaks in to look through Paula’s legal papers.
