To do this wek
Don’t deadhead fading flowers from rose varieties noted for good hips that will create interest in winter.
Look out for garden pests like vine weevil, as they fund places to overwinter. They are especially fond of containers
Tidy up and clean your green house and take advantage of the extra warmth to do jobs inside on cold or wet days.
Plant out seedlings of spring cabbage –if you do it now, you will have them ready for next February.
If you have an evergreen hedge such as box, yew or conifer, it should be completely trimmed before the end of this month.
