Try a hot dog from Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur
There are horror stories of locals tricking visitors into trying delicacies like hákarl (fermented Greenland shark, very much an acquired taste) or svið (a stew made with half a sheep’s head), but if you prefer something a little more familiar, then look out for a branch of Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur, a local hotdog chain – the name translates as ‘ The Town’s Best Sausage’. For the full experience, ask for ‘one with everything.’
