River Island introduces ‘For The Love Of Me’, a spring/summer ’21 campaign which uses subtle cues from tarot cards to deliver five distinct trend edits across womenswear. From The Sweetheart, dipped in pastels and sprinkled with charm, to The Smoothie, sharp in tailoring with a side of charisma – both share a love of fashion and the confidence it brings.

THE PEACOCK, for the love of glamour. The ’70s are calling! Leaving no print out, whether that’s geometric, chain, floral or dots; mixing and matching is championed with all the feather trimmings. If prints are a little too much, then OTT Victorian blouses and pearl-trimmed fancy frocks are just as impactful and ooze glamour.

THE SUPERSTAR, for the love of power. This trend is for the strong and simple ’90s minimalist, who loves to layer. The oversized monogram trench stands out as the must-have item. Structured neck tops, oversized shirts and monochrome block sweatshirts bring the drama, all perfectly teamed with leather-look culottes or authentic denim jeans.

THE SMOOTHIE, for the love of minimalism. A soft neutral palette of muted greys, pebble and beige is the core of this season’s calmest trend. An expert selection of loungewear; tie-dye two-pieces, button-through collared sets and oversized cardigans are all styles to take note of.

THE DUCHESS, for the love of owning it. Smart vs casual vs absolutely regal, this trend is off-duty, fashionable and fun. Think navy monogram RI tracksuits and crisp, white Peter Pan collars paired with pillarbox red sweatpants.

THE SWEETHEART, for the love of compliments. This trend consists of this season’s must-have knitted twin sets, brilliant bouclés, fancy floral tops and denim. These candy-like hues can be seen on stripes, slogans and standalone swatches – they’re set to capture any heart.
