Pregnancy skincare can be confusing to navigate, so IMAGE Skincare has put together a guide to what to use that’s safe for mums to be. If you’re unsure if the product you are using is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, contact your local IMAGE Skincare Pro who will be happy to advise. CLEANSER: Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser €38

“Hormonal breakouts are common during pregnancy,” explains Michelle Ryan, IMAGE Skincare trainer, “so the Ormedic collection can be a nice and safe way of balancing oil production.” A mild, refreshing gel cleanser that gently foams away impurities, leaving skin soft, hydrated and clean. A nourishing complex with organic aloe vera and botanical extracts soothes delicate skin. The satiny texture restores softness and balance to the skin.

SERUM: Iluma Intense Brightening Serum €54.50

“It’s also a good idea to incorporate a skin lightener like the Iluma Intense Brightening Serum to keep any pigment at bay,” says Michelle.

This quick-absorbing serum addresses both skin discolouration and redness, offering a calming and brightening solution for irritated, sun-damaged and sensitive skin. A blend of botanical brighteners and vitamin C encourages a clear, even-toned complexion.

EYE CREAM: Vital C Hydrating Eye Recovery Gel €51.50

This cooling gel formula soothes the delicate eye area and improves the signs of ageing with ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid, wrinklealtering peptides and nourishing antioxidants.

MOISTURISER: Prevention+ Ultimate Moisturizer (SPF 50) €49.50

“Pregnancy masking can be very common (pigmentation ) so make sure to use SPF everyday”, suggests Michelle.

This high-level sunscreen offers effective protection against damaging UV rays. It’s an ideal choice for sports, outdoor activities and high sun exposure, yet gentle enough for post-procedure skin. It contains SPF 50 along with a blend of plant stem cells and potent antioxidants to protect skin against the effects of free radical damage caused by environmental exposure.

MASQUE: VITAL C Hydrating Overnight Masque €62

Michelle’s top tip: “One product I find is great for mums who are sleep and time deprived is the Vital C overnight mask. We call this ‘Beauty Sleep in a Jar’ – use it 2-3 nights a week and wake up glowing.”

This overnight treatment has a triple mineral complex that energises the skin for a revitalised look. The gel-texture delivers water to the skin and locks in vital nutrients while you sleep. Blue-green algae extract, a natural retinoid alternative, helps to smooth skin and diminish wrinkles. Hematite and malachite provide unique mineral radiance.
