Being Frank
One of the most eagerly awaited comedies of the year, this six-part series is produced by Sharon Horgan and co-stars the Gleeson brothers, Domhnall and Brian, who also cowrote the script. Set in Dublin (though also shot in Belfast), the show follows the fortunes of Frank Marron (Brian), a 30-something misanthrope, living at home with his mother (Pom Boyd) and struggling to get his life together. You see, Frank is a musician who hasn’t written a song (or played a gig) in seven years; his ex-girlfriend (Sarah Greene) has just found herself a new beau (Tom Vaughanlawlor); and his wingman, Doofus (Domhnall), tends to live up (or down) to his name. Will Frank ever be able to earn any respect? In addition to the aforementioned stellar cast, Frank of Ireland also features Pat Shortt, Liz Fitzgibbon and Paul Tylak.
