Podcast: Housewives and Me

Kim Cattrall and Melia Kreiling (The Borgias) star in this Southern Gothic dramedy, playing two strong women who will go to any lengths to protect their loved ones and get their due. When the wealthy CEO of the world’s largest Christian network dies in a plane crash, his wife and adult children are stunned to discover he had illegitima­te children, who are also in his will. The matriarch of the family tries to pay them to go away, but these newly legitimise­d heirs insist on staying and becoming part of the family empire.

Online: The Visiting Hour

If you’re a theatre fan who has been missing live drama, this is one to pencil into your diary. Written during lockdown, Frank Mcguinness’ moving new play, The Visiting Hour, will be live-streamed from Dublin’s Gate Theatre on April 22, 23 and 24. Featuring two of our most renowned talents, Stephen Rea and Judith Roddy, this Gate at Home production quietly observes a daughter visiting her elderly father in his nursing home. His mind is beginning to wander and family memories can look very different, depending on who is telling the story. Alright, alright, alright. The Oscar-winning Texan has set up his own Youtube channel, primarily to promote a charity close to his heart, the “We’re Texas” Relief Fund aimed at providing critical resources to those affected by the devastatin­g winter storms in the region. The centrepiec­e of Mcconaughe­y’s content is the recent ‘Giddy Up To Give Back’ fundraisin­g concert featuring a host of well-known Texan artists, including Willy Nelson, Kelly Clarkson, Don Henley and Post Malone.
