Rhubarb time
The rhubarb in the cookery school garden is looking glorious this season, with long, pretty, pink stems that I can turn into delicious treats: jams, rhubarb fool, rhubarb gin and of course, some great baking. I am delighted that my garden is starting to come to life again. I love the beginning of the growing season as I get to work with rhubarb. It blends with so many great flavours, like strawberries, oranges or almonds as well as spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. While I love the flavour of rhubarb, I think I am always doubly excited to see it in the garden, as it really is the first sign that spring is here and summer is on the way!
