A troubled Tommy

-

Dearbhla worries about Cian’s commitment, as Tommy lies to her about his new living arrangements. Tommy admits to Sash that he’s planning to sleep in his allotment shed, and asks her to keep it to herself. However, it isn’t long before Sash spills the beans to Dearbhla, leading to a confrontation between Dearbhla and Cian about Tommy’s situation. Tommy isn’t happy when Sash offers him a place to stay, while Jane refuses to show any sympathy. Tommy lashes out at Cian and Dearbhla, but soon comes to his senses and takes Sash up on her offer. As he settles into his new abode, Tommy is eager to pay Sash back for her good deed, so he offers to babysit Olivia. Meanwhile, Jane dishes out a few jibes, but Cian and Dearbhla don’t seem to take any notice.

Cass is suspicious of Bela’s mind games, while Anto suggests getting the marriage of Cass and Olwen annulled when he returns the marriage certificate to Cass. However, Olwen is uneasy about the idea. Cass, who is motivated when Bela applies pressure, fails to talk Olwen into agreeing to an annulment. However, Olwen thinks she has come up with a solution that will be good for everyone – leading to a ‘conscious uncoupling’ ceremony. Despite their initial uncertainties, Bela and Cass eventually raise a glass to the past with Olwen.

Liam apologises to Ger about his prior selfish actions, as Carol and Hayley sing his praises. Things get emotional when Ger and Liam open up about the night they shared together as teenagers – the night before Liam married Ger’s best friend. This is followed by a huge confession from Liam. Later, Liam makes it clear to Ger that he won’t be forced out of town. Hayley isn’t happy about what is going on, and confronts them about the bad blood between them. The tension doesn’t settle between Ger and Liam, leading Carol to get involved. However, as Carol sees red and tells Liam he will be letting down the kids in the outreach programme if he leaves, he decides to stay. The two of them talk more about Liam and Ger’s past, and as revelations come to light, Ger is upset by the bond that is clearly forming between Liam and Carol.
