Ireland, Cancer & Me
RTÉ Player
This emotional documentary was the final project Tommie Gorman worked on as a journalist with RTÉ, and presented an insightful and personal account of how he dealt with living with a cancer condition.
Nothing was off the table as Tommie discussed his diagnosis in 1994, when he was 37 years old and working as RTÉ’S Brussels-based Europe Correspondent.
It was a rare form of the disease – neuroendocrine tumours, or NETS – the same form that killed Apple founder, Steve Jobs and singer, Aretha Franklin.
