Along with necessary and helpful details for swimmers and watersport enthusiasts (water temperature, tide times, swell height and wind speed) the app features podcasts, blogs and advocacy on Blue Health, and offers ways to get involved with environmental issues relating to the sea in Ireland. It’s time to get back out there and enjoy some tours that you may not have experienced pre-covid. The Teelings distillery is a great one to add to your list. Music — Beethoven: 9 Symphonies, 9 Cities
On June 6, ARTE Concert will take audiences online on a tour of Europe like no other, with all nine Beethoven symphonies performed in chronological order – seven of them live – from nine venues of symbolic significance all over Europe. These include the Arkadenhof of the Kurfürstliches Schloss in Beethoven’s birth city of Bonn, plus Prague, Vienna and Dublin, where RTÉ’S National Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Jaime Martín, will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2
in D Major from the National Concert Hall in Dublin. That performance, presented by Mary Kennedy, will be broadcast on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Sunday, June 6, at 2.10pm to coincide with its broadcast on ARTE Concert online, and on RTÉ lyric fm on Friday, June 18, at 7pm.
Beethoven: The European Tour will be available to Irish audiences live online at ARTE.TV, via the ARTE mobile app and the Smart TV app.
