The Missing Children
10.15pm RTÉ One
This feature-length special shines a light on the Tuam mother and baby home in Ireland, a notorious institution, run by the Bon Secours nuns, where 796 children born to unwed mothers disappeared.
Now we hear the extraordinary and moving stories of some of the children who survived this dreaded place, and discover what happened when a longoverdue search for the truth began.
Contributions come from survivors, adoptees, and the women who brought this story to the public eye, including historian Catherine Corless, journalist and author Alison O’ Reilly, barrister Dr Maeve O’ Rourke, columnist and former government advisor Fergus Finlay, Dr Linda Lynch, and many others.
