Streaming: Expats, Friday, Prime Video

Nicole Kidman produces and stars in this adaptation of Janice Y.K. Lee’s 2016 novel The Expatriate­s. The story takes place in Hong Kong circa 2014 and centres around three expat women, whose lives are forever changed by a tragic event. Acclaimed director Lulu Wang ( The Farewell, 2019) helmed all six episodes.

Podcast: Runaway Joe

In this RTÉ true crime podcast, an Irish-american is accused of murdering his wife in upstate New York in the 1960s. He escapes custody and is subsequent­ly discovered living in Ireland under a different identity. Due to institutio­nal failures at the highest level, he escapes justice, but remains on the FBI’S Most Wanted list. Will he be found?

Jo Glanville meets Berliners who have researched the stories of the Jewish families who once lived in their homes. Marie, Hugh, Anke and Matthias all became fascinated by the history of the families who lived in their flats before them when the Nazis were in power and wanted to find out what happened to them. Their discoverie­s are an intimate portrait of how lives were turned upside down and offer a new way of honouring the memory of Berliners who lost everything in the Holocaust.
