Dry January needn’t mean dull January

-

One of the big trends the drinks industry is focused on this year is low and no-alcohol products. Alcohol consumption is declining across Europe, and Ireland is no exception. There’s ever more choice of 0% beer and gin and even no-alcohol wines have moved on from the sugary confections of yesteryear. Dublin has a new noalcohol bar, Board on Clanbrassil Street (board games and dogs welcome!).

Going into the new year, many of us are keen to introduce some healthier habits after the festive season and the bar team at the iconic Dublin hotel, the Shelbourne, have created a new low and no-alcohol drinks menu to enjoy when you’re socialising with friends or family. Perfect for anyone taking it easy, or designated drivers for the evening or or those on a health kick. Or maybe you just want to try something new.

The new look menu features no- and low-alcohol cocktails, spirits and a new partnership with alcohol-free beer Lucky Saint, the most popular alcohol-free beer brand in the UK. This is a smooth lager with a golden haze and white head made using just four natural ingredients, with no flavourings or additives, and is left completely unfiltered for maximum body and flavour, without the alcohol of course. The Shelbourne team have also incorporated Lucky Saint into some of the new cocktails in No. 27, such as The Virgin Shelbourne Michelada, a delicious homemade Shelbourne Michelada mix topped up with Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager, and the refreshing Zero Shandy featuring Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager and London Essence Ginger Beer.
