No plastic, no palm, no problem!

Palm Free Irish Soaps are handmade skincare and beauty products which recently won the Sustainability Champion award at the Business of Craft Awards presented by Showcase Ireland Craft Expo at the RDS.

Based in Killaloe, Co Clare, Tony and Kathy Hoynes founded the family-run business after Kathy researched alternatives to mass produced chemical-laden soaps for her young family.

Experimenting using their own recipes for creating soap, they began to formulate with organic plant-based herbs, skin nurturing essential oils, vegetable oils and ltered rainwater: key ingredients in a holistic approach.

Their soaps leave the skin feeling soft and gently cleansed and the hair silky soft and shiny. The company’s organic-based deodorants protect and subtly scent the delicate underarm area.

Their products are made with an awareness of the environment and aim to have a minimal carbon footprint.

Palm-free Irish Soaps are in 450 retailers nationally, including Dunnes Stores, Nourish independent health stores, Horans, Evergreen Health Stores and Carrolls Gift Shops.

With growing awareness of pollution and ecological degradation from the production of many everyday products, consumer attitudes are changing. Palm Free Irish Soap has been at the forefront of this change for the past 27 years, formulating an award-winning sustainable hair and skincare range.

The company forgoes fancy packaging and opts for greener, simple compostable paper bags.

All products are 100% vegan, and they are now registered with Guaranteed Irish. Check out the full range of Palm Free Irish at palmfreeirishsoap.ie
