The Spring Summer 2024 collection at Magee 1866 is inspired by the windswept and sandy shorelines of Donegal, captured here on location at Murvagh beach.

Creative director of Magee 1866, Charlotte Temple explains, “The seascapes and shorelines of Donegal were the starting point for SS24 and one I always return to. The soft colours and textures of our surroundings are very much part of our ongoing inspiration and are reflected throughout this collection.”

For women, spring begins with warm tones of lemon yellow. Natural fabrics take centre stage, with Irish wool woven in cream herringbone and barleycorn finishes, while Irish linen, the ultimate summer fabric, runs through the collection in a fresh palette of pink, lemon, blue and navy. Crisp cottons, silk blends and lofty textures also feature throughout.

Following for summer days is a bright and feminine colour palette. A collage of pinks – from hot to dusky and deep cerise, which contrast with fresh lemon yellows and creams, all softened with greens in sage and moss.

Hero pieces range from the Klara wrap jacket, an easy-to-wear cardigan style, in oat and cream houndstooth in the softest baby alpaca and wool blend. The Josie in lemon colourway is the ultimate summer update, Magee 1866’s take on the contemporary tweed coat in an Irish wool herringbone weave. Also, a highlight is the Molly, a flattering, long-line double-breasted blazer in oat and caramel houndstooth – both designed and woven in the Magee weaving mill in Donegal town.
