Double trouble

-

Cleo knows Abe is up to something but has jumped to the conclusion that he’s cheating on her. She’s all set to spend the day following him to get proof, when Marie convinces her they should go to Manchester together instead to investigate a sighting of Arlo.

As they wait for a taxi, Marie reminisces about her youngest son, and shares a story about the boy’s favourite teddy. Meanwhile, back in the village, Abe gets a visit from Chris, and is shocked to discover he’s not alone. Abe then has some explaining to do when Cleo returns home from a fruitless search and confronts him about his supposed infidelity. He manages to convince his girlfriend that the incriminating text she saw was from a client, but he struggles to explain when she spots the stuffed toy Marie was talking about in his bag.

Refusing to buy any of her boyfriend’s excuses, Cleo follows Abe to the Youth Centre, where she makes a shocking discovery. Her first instinct is to call the police, but on later encountering a drunk Marie, will she be more willing to hear Abe out?

Elsewhere, Frankie feels intimidated when JJ sneaks into her room and lashes out, leaving her brother screaming in pain. Nancy tries to work out what’s behind her stepdaughter’s behaviour, but JJ is already getting his denials in early, as he tells Suzanne that he found a note in Frankie’s journal saying she wanted to destroy his career. And when he later discovers his sister’s self-harm scars, JJ ups the pressure on her to stay silent.

Sally agrees to attend Mercedes’ latest scan but doesn’t reveal she has her own appointment at the hospital at the same time. However, after Misbah asks to speak to Sally in her office, Mercedes grows suspicious.

John Paul is also concerned by Sally’s drinking session with Tom; the pair wake up in what appears to be a compromising position, but he has even more reason to worry when she later collapses.

Sienna is horrified by the news that Ste has been ordered to kill Murphy, and it seems her mate can’t see a way out as he later informs Warren that the job is done.

Dilly tries to sabotage Prince’s new job, but even when she’s trying to get him fired, the chemistry between them is obvious, and Ro overhears Diane telling Cindy that she misses her little girl.
