Cowboy-tastic!

We can’t quite pin it all on Queen Bee – Taylor Swift always had the plaid thing going on, while hit show Yellowstone added another layer – but since the release of Beyoncé’s latest album all things Western have gone stratospheric! Thats hats, boots and eh, chaps. Search engines have seen a 51% increase in searches for ‘cowboy boots,’ and a 31% increase in searches for ‘Levi jeans’ since the album dropped and a 57% increase featuring the keyword ‘cowboy.’ Yeehaw!

Kevin Costner

The Oscar-winning actor/director is back in Cannes this month with his eagerly anticipated western, Horizon: An American Saga. The epic two-part drama, starring Costner, Sienna Miller and Kathleen Quinlan, is already the talk of La Croisette, where it is due to premiere out of competition on

May 19. Costner hopes to make two further chapters of the saga, should it be successful at the box o ce. Cannes 2024 runs from May 15-25.

Cher

Having told Kelly Clarkson just last year that “I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars’’, Cher has been selected for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The legendary singer joins the likes of Jimmy Bu et, Ozzy Osbourne (as a solo artist) and Peter Frampton, who will all receive their honours at the Cleveland ceremony this autumn. But will Cher turn up?

Get ready for Tír na nóg

Fans of Emerald Park in Ashbourne, Co Meath (formerly Tayto Park) will be eager to visit the park’s newest attraction, Tír na nóg, a themed zone based on the mythical island in the sea, that opens on May 22. At the heart of Tír na nóg is ‘Na Fianna Force’, a suspended rollercoaster, that reaches 32m and speeds of up to 90km/h. Suspended from the overhead track, riders will feel the rush from a 360° zero-g roll and an upward helix, with daring twists and high-speed drops!

Ruler of all she surveys

The digital revolution in music continues to break records for Taylor Swift. Her fans snap up all the mixes and all the formats of everything she releases (and try getting a hotel room in Dublin on June 28). She recently became the rst billionaire musician and now, her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, has become the rst release to be downloaded more that one billion times, in just one week.
