The second part of Olivia O’Leary’s in-depth interview with acclaimed poet Michael Longley airs this evening.

Continuing with their reflection on his life and career, Michael discusses how he has used his work as a way to voice his response to the 30 years of violence that shook Northern Ireland.

He also discusses his 50-plus years of marriage to wife Edna, and how he has come to be a firm believer of the notion that the best poetry is written by either the young or the old.
