Tara Rogers in new EBS role
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS AND THE ROLE YOU PLAY IN IT?
I have recently been appointed manager of EBS in Sligo having worked for over 30 years in financial services. What I am loving about my new role is that our main focus in EBS is on house mortgages and home insurance. This allows me to have time to focus on our customers and give them the attention and time that they require and deserve. It is a very personal service and we manage the mortgage locally from start to finish. We have a particularly strong proposition with self builds and of course have the 3% cash back on all mortgage approvals. This can be very beneficial for customers to help them with set up costs on their new home.
HAS THE PANDEMIC AFFECTED YOUR BUSINESS ?
It has been very positive. I have seen a large increase in enquiries and applications as a result of Covid-19. The reason for this is twofold. With the increase in remote working this is allowing a lot of people to relocate to Sligo and the region. We are also seeing an increase in savings and consumers are finding that they now have the deposit required to secure a mortgage. What we are seeing though is a shortage in properties to buy. We have a lot of customers with fully underwritten approval and cannot find a property.
ANY EXCITING FUTURE PLANS?
I have a busy year ahead. I have been elected as president of Sligo Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 2021 and I will be promoting Sligo as a great place to work, live and visit. I want to grow my own business here in EBS by helping as many people as I can to find their dream home.
