Body recovered at Dunmoran Strand on Tuesday

A post mortem is to take place on the body of a man who was recovered from the sea at Dunmoran Strand in west Sligo on Tuesday. Gardaí said yesterday, Wednesday, that a recovery operation was initiated with assistance from the RNLI after the man’s body was discovered at the beach.

The body was removed to Sligo University Hospital where gardaí said a post mortem will take place in due course. The local coroner was also notified.

Gardaí said yesterday, Thursday, that investigations are ongoing. At the time of going to press yesterday the identity of the man had not been released.
