Millar is on the move
GOLF: County Sligo Golf Club are recruiting a new course manager as Mark Millar, who has held the position since 2015, is moving on. In a recent tweet golf greenkeeper Millar, who hails from Fermanagh, said: “It with with great sadness that I have handed in my resignation @CountySligoGC.”
“It has been a privilege to work on a fantastic links over the past six years. Onwards and upwards in a new adventure as estate manager at Glenpark Estate.”
Glenpark Estate in Omagh, County Tyrone is the site of the former Ulster History Park.
The Rosses Point course’s showcase event, the West of Ireland Amateur Open Golf Championship, has been rescheduled for September next.
Usually held during Easter, it didn’t take place either last year or this year on its traditional date due to Covid-19 restrictions.
