Fox’s win

HORSE RACING: Sligo jockey Derek Fox was on board a 66-1 winner at Aintree last Friday. He guided Ahoy Senor, an Irish horse trained by the Scottish-based Lucinda Russell, to first place in the Doom Bar Sefton Novices’ Hurdle (a Grade 1 race). Fox, however, was not involved in last Saturday’s Grand National at Aintree. The 28-year-old Sligo town rider from Emmett Place, won this famous race four years ago with One For Arthur as his mount.
