BUSY WEEKEND Between Friday and Sunday last there was some great golf played on the Strandhill course. In last Friday’s mixed competition, winner Tristan Probst, playing off two, posted a terrific score of 42 points (a three under tally that included five birdies). Although he bogied the 16th and
18th, he had already done the hard work.
Philip Moriarty was the player in form the following day, Saturday. He started with an eagle and when he birdied the other par five – the fifth hole – he was on his way to victory with a fine score of 39 points. In Sunday’s superb sunshine it was Philip Little who emerged as the competition winner – the highlight of his consistent display was a birdie on the second hole.
RESULTS The results of last Friday’s mixed stableford were as follows: 1, Tristan Probst (2) 42pts; 2, Patrick Tuffy (13) 39pts; 3, Ciaran Henry (1) 37pts.
RESULTS There was a men’s stableford played last Saturday. The results were as follows: 1, Philip Moriarty (7) 39pts; 2, Aidan McGowan (13) 38pts; 3, Mickey McTiernan (14) 38pts.
RESULTS The results of the men’s stableford played on Sunday last, May 30, were as follows: 1, Philip Little (25) 40pts; 2, Anthony Skeffington (11) 39pts; 3, Colin Foran (9) 37pts.
FIXTURES Tomorrow, Friday, there is a mixed singles stableford competition. Saturday’s competition is a men’s singles stableford and there is also a men’s singles stableford scheduled for Sunday. The competition on Bank
Holiday Monday, June 7, is a men’s singles stableford.
