A shortened season for teen teams

THE Sligo-Leitrim Youth & Schoolboys/Girls League has organised a truncated summer competitio­n.

This shortened season replaces the 2020-21 campaign which was halted due to Covid-19 restrictio­ns/ lockdowns.

This summer mini-season is expected to be concluded next month (July), with the regular season for 2021-22 commencing in either late August or early September.

Next week’s games, which start with fixtures on Bank Holiday Monday, June 7, will see action for boys and girls in the U-12, U-13, U-15 and U-17 age groups. Upcoming games are detailed below.

Sligo-Leitrim Girls U-12 League

SECTION ONE: Ballymote Celtic v Calry Bohs (11am); Real Tubber v Yeats United (12 noon)

SECTION TWO: Strand Celtic v Gurteen Celtic (11am); Carrick Town v St John’s (12.30pm)

SECTION THREE: Carrick Town Blue v Arrow Harps (11am)

Sligo-Leitrim Boys U-13 League

GROUP ‘A’: Arrow Harps v Coolaney United (12.30pm); St John’s v Gurteen Celtic (11am)

GROUP ‘B’: Ballisodar­e United v Merville United (11am); Ballygawle­y Celtic v Ballymote Celtic (11am); Calry Bohs v Yeats United (11am); Strand Celtic v Valley Rovers (12.30pm); Benbulben FC v Boyle Celtic (2pm)
