SIS Pitches competitions for SLDSL clubs set to commence this Sunday
TWO Junior soccer cup competitions – both sponsored by SIS Pitches – commence this Sunday. Organised by the Sligo-Leitrim & District Soccer League (SLDSL), the SIS Pitches Super League Cup and the SIS Pitches Premier League Cup offer clubs competitive and meaningful games ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season at the end of August.
Eleven of Sligo-Leitrim’s 12 top flight clubs are competing in the SIS Pitches Super League Cup, with nine of the 10 second tier clubs involved in the SIS Pitches Premier League Cup. Cliffoney Celtic are only top tier club that opted not to compete in the SIS Pitches Super League Cup, while Gurteen Celtic withdrew from the SIS
Pitches Premier League Cup.
Due to the fact that Gurteen Celtic’s withdrawal came after their initial pledge to take part, the fixtures remained the same with each team receiving a walkover from their scheduled meeting with Gurteen Celtic.
Each of this Sunday’s eight games (five Super League Cup fixtures and three in the Premier League Cup) have an 11am start.
If the home team’s ground is deemed unplayable the game reverts to the away team’s pitch. Where both pitches are unplayable the game can be played on an approved all-weather pitch, with costs split evenly.
In terms of the match result and details of scorers, the home team is responsible for submitting this information to 087 1087771 by 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon. mMeanwhile, each club must has its Covid-19 officer present at all of its fixtures.
