Sligo LGFA launch fundraiser

SLIGO LGFA have launched a new fundraiser to boost its activities for 2021. Called the ‘All County Draw’, this revamped initiative replaces the 300 Club draw.

There are 10 tempting cash prizes on offer. A total of €10,000 will be given away, starting with the top prize of €5,000 for the first ticket drawn. The second prize is €2,000 and €1,000 goes to the winner of the third prize. The fourth prize is €500. The remaining six prizes are amounts of €250.

Tickets, which cost €10 each, can be purchased from clubs throughout the county and members of the Sligo LGFA Executive Committee. Tickets will be available to purchase online in the coming weeks.

“The money raised from the annual county fundraiser will be invested in the developmen­t and promotion of Ladies Football within Sligo, the running of the County Board and of our county teams,” said a statement from Sligo LGFA.

“Sligo LGFA would like to thank those that have supported us in the past and we value your continued support going forward.”

VAL HARTE CUP There were two sections to this competitio­n that was played on Saturday last. The results of the stableford were as follows: 1, Bernard Harte (26) 48pts; 2, Jimmy Treacy (18) 39pts; 3, Pat Hickey (9) 38pts. The results of the stroke competitio­n were as follows: 1, Colm Brennan (17) 68; 2, Dean McGowan (4) 68; 3, Ronan Moriarty (13) 69. Diverse Print & Graphics sponsored both competitio­ns.

RESULTS Last Sunday’s stableford, sponsored by Quality Meats, was won by Martin Gillen, whose score was 43 points. Runner-up Stephen Burns tallied 42 points. Up and coming golfer Patrick Tuffy was third.
