BENSON CUP
The club’s senior men’s team returned to action last Saturday evening at Connolly
Park, with a Benson Cup quarter-final against Easkey. Matters went to extra-time as the visitors won by two points, 2-18 to 3-13.
It was level at full-time, 2-13 (Easkey) to 3-10 (Owenmore Gaels), after a late equaliser from Easkey. Before that a converted penalty from Ryan Phillips put Owenmore Gaels a point up. Matters were also tied midway through normal time, 2-3 (Owenmore Gaels) to 1-6 (Easkey).

SPOT-KICKS
A penalty shoot-out was required to separate Drumcliffe-Rosses Point and Ballymote in last Saturday evening’s Benson Cup quarter-final at Corran Park. It was level after normal time and then level again at the end of extra-time. Ballymote prevailed on spot-kicks to progress to the semi-final.

U-12 SUCCESS
On Sunday last Geevagh won the 2020 Shield of the Sligo U-12 ‘B’ Football League. Although a Boys U-12 competition, there were two girls in the Geevagh panel that won by 19 scores to four at the Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence. Geevagh were leading at half-time, nine scores to five. Easkey’s Intermediate team began their campaign on a winning note – last Saturday’s Benson Cup quarter-final defeat of Owenmore Gaels. An excellent point by Joseph Dunphy in the dying seconds of the match brought matters to extra-time. It finished with Easkey winning by two points, 2-18 to 3-13.
UNDERAGE FINALS
Two Easkey-St Farnan’s teams recently completed their schedule from 2020. In the Plate final of the Sligo U-12 ‘A’ Football
League, Easkey-St Farnan’s lost to another amalgamation, Ballymote-Bunninadden, by 14 scorers to seven. At U-14 level, in the
‘B’ Plate final, Easkey-St Farnan’s defeated Ballymote-Bunninadden by eight points, 3-9 to 1-7. The winners’ goals came from Conor Lang, Michéal McDonagh and Niall Willis.
LOTTO
The first draw of the combined lotto draw (with Eoghan Rua LGFA Club) took place on Monday evening of last week. The numbers drawn were as follows: 2, 10, 13, 40. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of consolation prizes (€30 each) were Mary Burke-Feeney, Seamus Murray, John O’Sullivan, Keith Sheridan and Martina Scanlon (Collooney). The jackpot for the next draw is €5,100.

The Girls U-16 team scored 6-6 at home
against St Mary’s – but lost by six points as the visitors shot 6-12.
HURLING WIN
The club were represented by four of its players – Kevin Banks, Eoin Comerford, Kieran Prior and Luke Comerford – in the Sligo Senior hurling panel that secured the Allianz Hurling League Division 3A title last Saturday. These lads presented the club’s latest batch of young hurlers (U-6 age group) with their new hurls.

CLUB LOTTO

THREE TEAMS
Last weekend Shamrock Gaels fielded three men’s adult teams for the first time – the club was represented in Division 4C of the Sligo Senior Football League, Kiernan Cup and Abbott Cup.
