They can become an easy every day ritual for busy lives, offering tailored supplements for each life stage.

Daithí O’Connor founded Revive Active in 2011 with one vision in mind – to be the leading health supplement company globally.

Revive Active passionately believes in doing things right. From humble beginnings, Daithí backed his vision with everything he had and built a successful business with strong foundations. The unique products are formulated and made in Ireland, where they are exported around the world.

Nigeria may not seem the obvious destination for a secondary market for Galway-based Revive Active, however a conversation which began on a golf course in the west of Ireland quickly established what was to become a huge opportunity for the brand.

A connection was made between Daithí O’Connor and an Irish CEO of a pharma company based in Nigeria, and as the Irish support the Irish, Revive Active were subsequently introduced to the largest pharmacy chain in Nigeria, MedPlus. MedPlus Pharmacy is a wholesale, retail and dispensing pharmaceutical organisation established for the distribution and retailing of locally manufactured and imported drugs throughout Nigeria. They have a group of highly-skilled health care professionals that are concerned with solving customers health, beauty and lifestyle concerns. Their vision is to become Nigeria’s landmark healthcare store and pharmacy group, with a nationwide reputation for professionalism, innovation and quality products. Speaking about the new deal, Mr O’Connor: “This has been a huge opportunity for us, and we are delighted to be partnering with a well-established pharmacy group like MedPlus, their professionalism and vision for our brand is refreshing and encouraging.

“For me, I’m delighted to be growing in a new market with enormous opportunity within Nigeria and West Africa, while researching Nigeria I discovered it has a population of 150 million.

“It is on the same timezone as Ireland, St Patrick is their patron saint, Guinness is a big brand, and they are very much aware of Ireland through the Irish missionaries. “There is a great and warm connection between both markets which is so apparent.

“We have also witnessed tremendous support on the ground from Enterprise Ireland and this has opened up West Africa for us and we have contacts now established in neighbouring Ghana and we are currently researching the South African market, working with Enterprise Ireland and a local company on the ground.”

The connection between Revive Active and Nigeria is ever-growing, and the brand is now supporting a local a rugby club, Barewa in Kano, Nigeria, supplying rugby jerseys donated by Coláiste Iognáid, ‘The Jes’ in Galway, along with rugby boots from Connacht Rugby and a test jersey donated by Irish lock James Ryan which is now displayed at their club.
