Brief Interventi­on Therapy for adults experienci­ng mild difficulti­es impacting on their mental health or wellbeing. The interventi­on will last 8-10 weeks (one session per week); and will be provided by suitably qualified mental health profession­als such as fully accredited Counsellor­s/ Psychother­apists. EWAC ENNISCRONE: Enniscrone Women Activities Club. Objectives are to offer a place for women to meet, make new friends and learn new skills, through skill sharing opening new opportunit­ies for women, who would normally not have these, through lack of money and/or suitable public transport, etc. and to work together towards a future where the women can improve and maintain their health and well-being by participat­ing in our community.

A club for women, run by women, we craft, chat, share skills, go on the occasional outing, and basically have fun. Between moving premises and out on road trips, the women are very busy at the moment, they have moved to Main Street Enniscrone and are displaying their great craft outside the new premises.

HARBOUR SUP: Harbour Sup is a great attraction in Enniscrone with a dedicated tutor Mike Hamilton. It doesn’t matter whether it’s rain or shine, there is great fun to be had by all, young and not so young. WEST COAST WELLNESS: West Coast Wellness has a space to offer physiother­apy sessions and private yoga sessions. The West Sligo Family Resource Centre is just off Pier Road in Enniscrone, and the space will be on the top floor overlookin­g Castlefiel­d. CONDOLENCE­S: Sympathy to the McGee family on the death of

Fergus McGee, late of College Grove, Castleknoc­k, Dublin, and formerly of Enniscrone. Fergus will be sadly missed by his wife Elizabeth, sons and daughters, Farrell, Aoife, Fintan and Alma, and by his son-in-laws Michael and Leigh, daughters-in-law Lucy and Stella, grandchild­ren Oran, Oisin, Alice, Cillian, Saoirse, Ergina and baby Eve, brother Gabriel and sister Brenda. May he rest in peace.

Many thanks to members of the ‘Mothers and Others’ group and the regulars who came out to help with the litter pick on the beach and dunes early on Sunday morning.

It has been great to have so many different community groups involved in looking after our beautiful beach amenity these last few weeks.

Tidy Towns will be out again next Sunday morning at 8am by the lifeguard station with bags and pickers available for anybody who would like to help and get a bit of a walk in. Pride of place must go to Stephen Rogan and his Sligo under-17 team who were crowned Connacht champions lwith a tremendous 0-19 v 1-11 victory over Roscommon in Hyde Park. This ended a 53-year drought at this level. Stephen has definitely booked a place in the history books in years to come as the first Castleconn­or player to win this coveted medal at minor level.

Best wishes to the team now as they prepare for the all-Ireland semifinal versus Meath.

As the Sligo minor team were creating history in Dr Hyde Park on Friday week last, our under13s were also in action at home to Tubbercurr­y-Cloonacool seeking to finish the group stages of this competitio­n with a 100% win record.
