Group One opener when beating an understrength Tourlestrane last Sunday at Collooney’s Connolly Park. Sligo U-20 player Jack Davitt bagged a second-half hat-trick for the winners.

Tourlestrane, depleted due to a number of their squad called up for Senior Football Championship duty against Shamrock Gaels at Keash the day before, were nine points down at

INTERMEDIATE

half-time, 0-11 to 0-2.

Alan McLoughlin and Dean Carroll, each of whom contributed five points, were among the St Molaise Gaels scorers in the first-half, with Conor Watters also on target in the opening period for last year’s Intermediate finalists.

St Molaise Gaels finished with 13 players due to two bookings for centre-forward Paddy McGowan and a black card for full-back Robbie Ryan. The winners’ fourth goal was scored by substitute James Heraghty.
