IT is hosting next virtual open evening on Tuesday

-

IT SLIGO is holding a virtual open evening event on Tuesday next, January 18, from 6pm to 9pm, to help students and their parents weigh up their options and make informed course choices.

The event is well-timed with the CAO deadline approaching it is time to direct attention towards the CAO application process for those considering a full time third level education.

This event aims to ensure all Leaving Certificate, PLC and mature students get the information they need to make their CAO choices at IT Sligo.

Cleo Devaney, marketing and student recruitment manager at IT Sligo, said: “This event will give visitors the opportunity to join panel discussions about specific subject areas, take a virtual tour of our stunning campus, watch videos explaining different course choices and provide insights into what it is like to be a student in IT Sligo.

Our academic lecturers, admissions team, support staff and students will be available virtually to answer any questions applicants may have. Now is the time to get the information that will help make the right choice

“IT Sligo is at the forefront of offering qualifications that prepare graduates for life and work. IT Sligo offers applied learning, not just academic knowledge, and as a result has one of the highest employability rates of all third level universities thanks to their close connection to industry.”

It is an exciting time to join IT Sligo as they join GMIT and LYIT to form the Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in April 2022. IT Sligo is also working with St Angela’s on their incorporation to the Institute to turn Sligo into a University Town for the first-time next year.

IT Sligo has seen extensive development over this past number of years, providing students with the most up to date facilities in which to study, and they continue to grow their campus. This year, IT Sligo broke ground on two major developments. The north campus will see a new cultural arts and design centre for their Yeats Academy of Arts, Design & Architecture (YAADA) department.

This will give students the space for creative exploration, with art studios, design spaces and a tiered theatre for the performing arts. In the centre of campus, work is under way for a new multi-million-euro extension, housing scientific research centres, teaching spaces and a new hub for their ambitious and ever-expanding online learning developments.

Students wishing to join IT Sligo next September for full-time undergraduate study are advised to apply now through the CAO. Applicants can apply to the CAO for a reduced fee of €30 before January 20 at 5pm. A fee of €45 applies after this time and until the normal closing date of February 1 at 5pm.
