Medal haul for local athletes at

THE sun beamed down over SETU Carlow for the 2022 National Community Games track and field finals on Saturday, August 13.

2000 children, along with their families and supporters travelled from all over the country to represent their Counties with pride.

Throughout the day, 28 track events and 14 field events took place in glorious sunshine.

There was a great sense of excitement and enjoyment all around the campus as the action unfolded.

Congratula­tions to all the children who took part, all winners already having competed through the county and regional finals.

Nation Community Games Results Gold Medals: Kenneth Kalu, Under-14 Boys 100m; Adam Kenny, Brian Cullinan,

Charlie Fenton and Michael Harte, Under-14 Boys 4x100m Relay.

Silver Medals: Brian Cullinan, Under14 Boys 80m Hurdles; Emily Hession, Kelvin Kalu, Kenneth Kalu and Lily O’Loughlin, Under-15 4x100 Mixed Relay.

Bronze Medals: Sophie Egan, Under-8 Girls 60m; Aoife Cullinan, Under-10 Girls 60m Hurdles; Andrew Percy, Under-10 60m Hurdles; Finn Campbell, Under-16 Boys 200m; Grainne Cooke, Ellen Giblin, Rachel Haran and Erin Walsh, Under-16 Girls 4x100m Relay.

Fourth Place Medals: Ruby Savage Cunnane, Under-12 Girls 100m; Glen Carty, Under-12 Boys 100m; Nicole Flanagan, Under-14 Girls Long Jump; Emily Hession, Under-16 Girls High Jump; Daniel Oates, Gemma O’Callaghan, Jasmine Dunleavy and Finn Campbell, Under-16 Mixed 4x200 Relay.
