The club’s men’s captain, Mark Burke, held his event last weekend, a 27-hole stroke play competitio­n. The results were as follows: 1, Damian Keenan; 2, Kevin Maloney; 3, Ivan Maloney.

The annual Tubber Masters was held on the Monday before last, August 8, at Enniscrone Golf Club in west Sligo.

This was an 18-hole stableford. The results were as follows: 1, John Sheridan 45pts; 2, Frank Durkin 39pts; 3, Sean McCormack 39pts.

ENNISCRONE LADIES

RESULTS: The results of the open competitio­n that took place last Thursday were as follows: 1, Alice Higgins (15) 40pts. The Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone, were the competitio­n sponsors.

CASTLE DARGAN LADIES

CAPTAINS’ DAY: Last Saturday’s captains’ day saw play delayed for an hour due to fog. When conditions improved there was a hot day for the record number of entrants. The course was packed from early morning until late evening. The prize-giving took place after the gala dinner, the evening was rounded off with dancing into the small hours. Men’s captain Michael Flynn and lady captain Carol Murphy Keaveney enjoyed the day and celebratio­ns surrounded by family and friends alongside club members .

The results from last Saturday’s lady captain’s prize, as part of captains’ day, are detailed below There were two competitio­ns, an 18-hole stroke play and a 9-hole stroke play. 18-HOLE STROKE PLAY: 1, Pauline Lennon; 2, Joan O’Dowd; 3, Assumpta Kelly; 4, Shiela Clancy; Lowest gross, Pauline Lennon; Nearest the pin, Loretto Brennan; Longest drive, Therese O’Rourke; Par 3, Pauline Byrne; Par 5, Loretto Brennan; Back 9, Nora Teague; Front 9, Therese O’Rourke; Lady visitors’ prize, Annette Kearns; Male visitors’ prize, Philip Primrose.
