St Mary’s 3-14 0-18 (this was Hunt’s only score from play, too, as he notched six other points, all frees).

St Mary’s only scored four points in the second-half of normal time but it still looked as if they had done enough.

They probably could have done with at least one goal but Eli Rooney’s 43rd minute opportunity for a three-pointer was denied by Harps netminder Jamie McCoy.

Harps manager Keith Carty was delighted with how his players kept going, especially their resolve when the margin went to seven points. He said: “We were disappointed by the way we played in the first-half, St Mary’s were getting scores awful easily and we weren’t working as hard as we had in previous games.

“We got back into the game in the second-half but it took until the very end to get the equaliser and I think we probably deserved it.

“In extra-time I think we were the better team, we looked a lot sharper.”

Carty’s counterpart, John Clifford, was upset at how things turned out. “We were cruising and we probably overplayed the ball, that cost us as well as a few bad decisions when in possession.”
