Sean Power, who scored with a stylish finish.
Once level, Drumcliffe-Rosses Point began to sprint and they struck four additional scores to take a four-point lead into the half-time break.
Sean Power scored again, Cian Lally kicked two impressive points and Ciaran O’Reilly found the range with a fine score that was confirmed after referee Gavin Cawley had a brief word with his umpires at the scoreboard end of the pitch, Pat Conway and Seamus Hoey. Incredibly, Drumcliffe-Rosses Point had scored seven points on the trot after going a goal down. CoolaneyMullinabreena ended the first period with a goal chance – Barry Gorman’s effort was saved by Paul Durcan. Drumcliffe-Rosses Point continued to control matters and extended their lead to eight points, 0-11 to 1-0, by the 38th minute. Aaron McCormack, Paul Logan, Sean Power and Cian Oates were on target – the pick of these points were those by Logan and Oates. Gavin Gorman’s converted free after 40 minutes was CoolaneyMullinabreena’s first score since the second minute. Then Gavin’s brother, Barry, landed a classy point and Coolaney-Mullinabreena were finally starting to motor.

In the time that was eventually played, 16 minutes, CoolaneyMullinabreena outscored DrumcliffeRosses Point, 0-3 to 0-1, with Barry Gorman shooting two big points and substitute Darren Coleman converted a free.

Drumcliffe-Rosses Point survived several goalmouth scares and tapped over a 14th point at the other end when Stephen Regan pointed after Coolaney-Mullinabreena goalkeeper Cathal Finan scrambled the ball out from a Cian Oates goal chance.
It is a worry for Drumcliffe-Rosses, who finished with 14 players due to
