Facile win for the holders
Senior Hurling C’ship Round Four
Calry-St Joseph’s Easkey 1-10 4-36
IN TERMS of the bigger picture, there was little to learn from Easkey’s decisive demolition of Calry-St Joseph’s in round four of the Sligo Senior Hurling Championship at Hazelwood on Saturday evening last.
The holders’ statisticians were working overtime, however, as the combination of hurlers from neighbouring clubs Easkey and St Farnan’s notched 40 scores in a 35-point win, 4-36 to 1-10. Easkey, for whom Ronan Molloy did well, were 18 points up at half-time, 2-19 to 1-4. The winners’ first-half goals came from Fionn Moylan, who grabbed a brace of three-pointers. Two defenders, Bernard Feeney and Eoghan Rua McGowan, scored goals for the rampant Easkey in the second-half.
