New Local Link bus routes and services for Sligo and Leitrim welcomed
A series of new Local link bus routes and services for Sligo and Leitrim will begin operation from next Monday, September 12.
Confirming the routes, Cllr Marie Casserly said that they would prove invaluable and were to be welcomed. Cllr Casserly has been liaising with Local Link over the past number of years to firm up new routes and routes that respond to public demand. The routes to come into service on Monday covered a broad sweep of north Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim.
The Monday to Friday Castlerea to Sligo (St Angela’s Campus) via Bunninadden service will commence operation on Monday next 12th September . From Monday 12th September there will also be two additional daily departures from Sligo to Dromahair on Route 566. TFI Local Link Donegal Sligo Leitrim have introduced a twice weekly Demand Responsive Transport service serving Ballintrillick , Ballinfull, Ballyconnell and Raughley to Sligo. This prebookable service collects passengers in the vicinity of their homes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and provides them with over two hours in Sligo Town.
A similar Demand Responsive Service is now operating from Glencar, Leckaun and Calry on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to Sligo Town.
A pre bookable Demand Responsive Service from Nazareth village to Sligo Town Centre is operational on Mondays and Thursdays. An additional Monday to Friday service will commence on Monday 12th on route 572 linking Sligo and Ballinamore serving Ballygawley, Sooey, Riverstown, Geevagh, Ballyfarnon and Drumshanbo.
