Jazz spectacle The Story of Swing comes to the Hawk’s Well

-

DUKE Ellington famously declared that “it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing”, and almost a century since that jazz standard was released, Luke Thomas doubtlessly still agrees.

The singer returns with his band to the Hawk’s Well on Saturday, September 24, to tell The Story of Swing. The show starts at 8pm. Known as Ireland’s King Of Swing, Luke Thomas and his band The Swing Cats will perform a very special ‘Prohibition Edition’ of their hit show The Story Of Swing. A musical timeline of swing classics from the 1920s to the modern day, it’s a night not to be missed. The show features all the favourite swing and big band songs like ‘Sing Sing Sing’, ‘Puttin On The Ritz’, and ‘Mack The Knife’, as well as crooner classics like ‘Mr Bojangles’, ‘Fly Me To The Moon’, and ‘New York’.

This is an absolute must for all swing, jazz, and big band music fans.

Tickets, which are priced at €24 and €12 for under-18s (plus booking fees), are available now.
