Big wins for Glenview, Ballymote and Dromahair

GLENVIEW Stars were the biggest winners in the round of games played in the Sligo Pallets Premier League last weekend.

On Sunday last they were 11-0 winners against Chaffpool United at Forthill.

The rampant home side had seven scorers – Malcolm Reilly led the way with a hat-trick, with goals also coming from Conor Cox (2), Jake Drewe (2), Justin McLoughlin, Ronan

O’Grady, Sean Condron and Adam Coyle.

Ballymote Celtic were just one goal short of double figures in their victory away to Calry Bohs Reserves – the visitors won 9-0.

Jack Hever, who scored four goals, was the star of the show for Ballymote. Also on target for the winners were Cian Kilcoyne (2), Oisin Brennan and Malachy Healy. Ballymote’s nine-goal tally included an own goal.

Dromahair FC were similarly potent – they won 8-1 at home to Valley Rovers. Sean Conlon and Stephen Mullen each scored a hattrick for Dromahair who were originally meant to play this game at the home of Valley Rovers. Mark McGee and Jamie Conlon also scored for Dromahair.

Valley Rovers’ consolatio­n goal came from Callum Moore.

Kilglass-Enniscrone United won

3-1 at home to Ballygawle­y Celtic.

All four of this game’s goals came in the second-half. Cathal Davey’s goal from a 49th minute free-kick put Ballygawle­y Celtic in front – but that was as good as it got for the visitors. The hosts levelled matters through Ronan Martin’s goal after 60 minutes. Cormac O’Malley increased the west Sligo club’s lead and then Martin netted his second in stoppage time.

Goals from Thomas Sweeney and Billy Flynn gave Gurteen Celtic a 2-0 win at home to Benbulben FC. Meanwhile, the one Sligo Pallets Premier League game on Saturday last saw Strand Celtic Reserves and Carrick Town draw 3-3 at Strandhill. This fixture’s main highlight, from a Carrick Town perspectiv­e, was Shane Byrne’s hat-trick. Among the scorers for Strand Celtic were Andrew Lynch and Jacob Krajeshki.
